Mr. Niaz Ahmed is one of the pioneers of modren photography in balochistan. he started photography in 1930 and after the struggle of 18 years he established his own studio in Quetta in early 1948 immediately after the establishment of Pakistan. This studio served as the starting point for the promotion and advancement of modren photography and its creative reflections in the province. Now after the passage of 60 years it has became a history itself
It was the primitive stage in 1948. The art of photography was unaware of the technical facilities and sophisticated equipments which are in common use today. it depended on the simplest Box cameras and was confined to black and white prints. Mr. Niaz Ahmed, not caring these handicaps, started his upward journey in light of his own creative skill, insight and confidence. He used the available cameras to produce such marvellous photographs which are no less then a priceless historic treasure and antiques.
Not restricting himself to his studio, he prepared innumerous photographs of Quetta Town and civil life which now present the history of the past 60 years. He also hav the credit to introduce first colour labratory of Quetta which played a vital role in the promotion of colour photography in Quetta. He has always been ahead of modren developments in the field of photography and has maintained his proud position as a pioneer in this art and profession.
